Around four years back in September 2014, a crypto enthusiast with Twitter handle @MissSatoshi had sold her grandmother some Bitcoin so that her grammy can give it as a gift to someone very special. The price of Bitcoin at that time was around $450 and today it is hovering around $8,000. In the latest update this week, @MissSatoshi shared on Twitter that Crypto Grammy has passed away and Bitcoin (BTC) has lost one of it's strongest supporters and advocates.

Miss Satoshi @MissSatoshi tweeted:

"Today $BTC lost one of it's strongest supporters and advocates.  Grammy would tell everyone about #BTC, for the past 6 years she woke up and checked the price on her iPad.  Today she passed at 94.5 years old. Our hearts are broken but she will be a HODLer forever. #love #crypto #bitcoinforeveryone"

Crypto Grammy’s grandson Justin Blincoe, former COO of Coinapult, a Bitcoin technology company, also weighed in on Twitter:

Justin Blincoe@jpblincoe

" I lost my Grandmother today. In addition to her amazing life, she was one of the first people I convinced to buy Bitcoin.  Pretty sure she was one of the first people over 85 to buy (2013). RIP, LOVE, HODL"

The crypto community poured in their thoughts condolences who were moved by Crypto Grammy’s passing. Here are some reactions from Twitter and Reddit:

Ashe Oro @Ashe_Oro tweeted:

"such a #Bitcoin OG. Rest in Peace, Grammy. See u on the moon."

CryptoPappy @Crypto_Pappy tweeted:

"Bitcoin will be worth a fortune when we are 94 😱😱😱 #Bitcoin"

Nate @natetalbot313 tweeted:

"Who said this tech was only for the youth. Grammy got it! Y’all need to catch up with her! RIP Grammy! Sorry for your loss @MissSatoshi"

Redditors on the other hand, were curious as to what will happen to Grammy's bitcoin? Some of the users shared their thoughts:

User docmcshutit:

"Id imagine nothing unless someone finds the private key"

Another user Bitdigester:

"If she had it on Coinbase it would be recoverable without her wallet password. That's why we need ETFs and custodial accounts for some people."
